Course description
This course includes classes on sūtras 1.1.1–2.2.10 given during Bhakti-ratna course, Semester 4.
The Vaiśeṣika Sūtra, also called Kaṇāda Sūtra, is the foundation of the Vaiśeṣika school. They were written by sage Kaṇāda in aphoristic sūtra style and present theories on the creation and existence of the universe, applying logic, and realism. Vaiśeṣika is more systematically structured than Nyāya and is one of the earliest systematic realist ontologies in human history. The text discusses different kinds of motions, the meaning of dharma, a theory of pramāṇa, the basis of ātmā, and the nature of yoga and mokṣa.
Krsna Prema is superior to having darshan of Krishna. It is not necessary that by having darshan of Krishna you will have prema for Him. But if you have prema, His darshan is certain.
